Zagreb

Capital city of Croatia is mature, well maintained and beautiful. Walking on its old streets reminds of Prague or Barcelona, but compared to Catalonian city is way much calmer and cleaner. People seem to be quite laid back and even when they experience economical crisis and they have to get by at relatively low earnings they look happy anyway. Smiling or saying hello to each other doesn't seem to be odd here. Trams and buses are well organised. Although there's nothing really interesting Zagreb still attracts tourists.

Zagreb by night

I met some local people trough CouchSurfing again. Two completely different experiences. They both gave me quite a lot of hospitality and I had great time. I spent two nights with each of them. I could be bit more descriptive, but pictures say more than words.

Ivana, 30, languages teacher, likes beer, going out, collects beer bottles and words for her multilingual kinky dictionary:

Esli, 35, proper woman, successful careerist, tries to leave rat race to have free time and travel, living her life healthy and at good standard, dog lover, photographer, artistic soul:

Hvala means thanks

Croatia is indeed similar to Poland. I found at least three significant differences: people are more friendly and happy, the weather is much better, and tourism is developed.

Balkans - to be continued other day!
